Welcome to Morecambe Sunsets! This site is dedicated to the beauty and tranquility of a sunset over Morecambe Bay.

But why? »

I have had the pleasure of witnessing Morecambe sunsets for a few years now, especially as my journey to work consists of walking along the promenade facing out to the west. This means that at certain times of year the sun sets during my walk home. I've not got a great camera but I'm going to be posting some of the more beautiful photos I have taken of sunsets during these walks home, and any other time I happen to catch one.

I like this one because it looks like there are two suns!

I think the clouds in this one are my favourite of all so far. The colours are astounding despite the fact that they hide the sun from view.

The Midlands view

This shot was the first with my new phone so I was playing with the settings. It's a little over-exposed, but not bad.

The building on the right is the famous Midland Hotel in Morecambe and I managed to capture the sun before it crept behind. You can also just see some of the Winter Gardens on the very left; another iconic Morecambe building and old theatre.
